Government Prayer Focus #2
Suggestion: To maintain your focus read the entire page first then proceed to the links. Thank you.
God has appointed and arranged authorities. I believe that those in Christ Jesus are responsible to pray for them and guard them much as possible.
Consider this character quality?
Responsibility vs. Unreliability (This is one of several character qualities of Jesus.)
“Knowing and doing what both God and others are expecting from me” (IBLP)
As believers we need to be determined to daily put on the whole armor of God for the sake our government.
Determination vs. Faintheartedness
“Purposing to accomplish God's goals in God's time - regardless of the opposition” (IBLP)
(To learn more about character click here)
Let us continue to prioritize the days ahead and make ourselves available to God for the sake of our country.
Availability vs. self-centeredness
"Making my own schedule and priorities secondary to the wishes of those I am serving" (IBLP)
"For I have no one like him [no one of so kindred a spirit] who will be so genuinely interested in your welfare and devoted to your interests. For the others all seek [to advance] their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ (the Messiah)." AMP
Prayer: Dear Father, we ask that You strengthen each believer and cause them to be determined and responsible to pray for governing (civil) authorities, in Jesus' name Amen.
Suggestions on exercising our delegated authority
Exercising our delegated authority: Mask of deception in any form, “come off” every person in government authority, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Exercising our delegated authority: True character "be exposed" for all people in the US government, in Jesus' name Amen.
2 Chronicles 7:14
"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." NKJV

God has appointed and arranged governing (civil) authorities
"LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment. [Proverbs 8:15.]
Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them].
For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation.
For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant to execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer.
Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God's wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience.
For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service.
Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due." AMP
Responsibly for all believers
1 Timothy 2:1-4
"FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men,
For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.
For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior,
Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth." AMP
