What do we taste like? How can we tell if our heart is sweet?
Whenever we go to the grocery store to pick a sweet watermelon it can be a challenging task.
We search for that perfect melon by hitting, thumping or tapping it several times.
We listen for that certain sound high or low. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
We look at the appearance such as color, certain marks and so on.
However, when the watermelon is cut open and we taste it (even smell it) the truth is revealed.
If it doesn’t taste that great we sometimes just put up with. We might say, “Well, at least it’s cold and juicy!”
Spiritually speaking likewise for believers. We are like that watermelon.
When people hit us, thump at us with unkind words, comment on our appearance and so on, all this produces or causes pressure in our life.
Then it happens, thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes begin to surface or leak out.
In other words, when we are cut by unkind words and difficult circumstances, thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes begin to form. Bottom line, whatever is in us will come out or be spoken!
Then people will know how we taste, either sweet, bitter, rotten, flat, sour, tasteless and so on! Sometimes out of kindness they just put up with us!
What do people taste from our life? Is our heart sweet?
“Some people like to make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise soothe and heal.”
