James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” RSV
(1) If we only hear God’s word and not actually do it we deceive ourselves. (2) Deceive means: (ensnare, to be false, cheat, delude) (3) Delude means: (to mislead the mind or judgment of)
