Three key areas:Remain/Alertness/Character development

Key portions of scripture for this teaching.

John 15:16-17 (NKJV)
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain (Greek #3306), that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another.”

John 15:16-17 (MSG)
"You didn't choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won't spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
"But remember the root command: Love one another.”

Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)
“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].”

Here is a verse that reveals the results of much fruit that should remain or continue.

John 15:8 (AMP)
“When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”

Here is a portion of scripture revealing that we should continue in His word. Two key words are “Believed” and “If”.

John 8:31-32 (AMP)
“So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”

John 8:31-32 (RSV)
“Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Key character quality

Alertness vs. Unawareness
“Being aware of that which is taking place around me so that I can have the right responses to them.” (IBLP)
