Attitude Resurrected_The Secret (Part 2)
This teaching was taught in 2008. It is amazing how it is relevant today and onward. God's truth does not change!
Highlights:
Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes.
"Attitude is everything…Choose a “Jesus attitude” today for the people we serve." John Maxwell
We learned that we could operate in a character quality in a given situation and at the same time have a “non-Jesus attitude”.
Example. Speaking the truth but with a harsh attitude.
We noted that our attitudes and our motives play a big part of what kind of person we are.
We understood that the Spirit of God within us rather than our self-will should change our attitude. (Self-will = Positive thinking apart from God “I can do it on my own” attitude.)
I said that we are not alone. We have the Holy Spirit to help us.
I said that we should go to God’s written word first before any other material.
Speaking God’s word is like the snow and the rain it will raise up a “Jesus attitude”.
Isaiah 55:10-11
"My word is like the snow and the rain that come down from the sky to water the earth. They make the crops grow and provide seed for planting and food to eat. 11 So also will be the word that I speak--it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do." TEV
Big question. Since we have the Holy Spirit and the written word why is it that we do not display a “Jesus attitude” on a steady basis?
I had another question while preparing this teaching.
Where in the Bible could we go to see an example of a great “Jesus attitude”?
I was directed to Paul.
How was his attitude?
I see his attitude as a “Jesus attitude”.
What was one secret in Paul’s life to have a “Jesus attitude”?
What was one thing that Paul did on a private basis that would be seen outwardly?
