Attitude Resurrected_The Segments (Part 3)
Highlights:
Preview of this teaching. Where is the old you?
In our last two sessions, we have been working on what God spoke to me.
“Resurrect those things in our life that have been dead that need to be alive.”
Our category has been “Attitude”.
Quote: “Our attitude tells us what to expect from life. Like an airplane, if our “nose” is pointed up we are taking off if it is pointed down, we are headed for a crash." John Maxwell
What is your attitude direction?”
Human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes.
"Attitude is everything…Choose a “Jesus attitude” today for the people we serve." John Maxwell
In our search for a “Jesus attitude” we looked at Paul’s life.
Even though God desires “His Son’s attitude” to manifest and be alive within us and seen by the world on a regular basis.
We can still mess up and have a “non-Jesus attitude”.
Why? (Because we are not perfect)
We saw that Peter, Paul, and Barnabas were not perfect.
We learned that even though we mess up; effectiveness needs to be restored.
When we mess up, we need to put things back in order.
Testimony of code 100 in the grocery store. (Vodka spilled and the bakery lady’s neglect) Consequences when we do nothing about the mess.
Remember what was said that, “entwined with our character are our attitude and motives and that equals what kind of person we are.”
We left off by saying when we mess up what do we do?
We can still mess up and have a “non-Jesus attitude” just as Peter, Paul, and Barnabas did.
Every difficult situation is like a storm against our Jesus attitude.
Each storm will bend us, but we must spring back up as soon as possible with a Jesus attitude.
We must be flexible like the trunk of the palm tree.
The trunk of the palm tree. (From the teaching series “How to M.O.V.E. through this life”)
The palm tree bends in any direction. It springs back up as soon as the storm passes.
If a palm tree does not spring up quickly after being bent by the wind it will be torn to shreds.
The older and taller a palm tree is, the more it can bend.
Example: Vertebrae of a person’s back is made of individual segments that allow the spine to bend likewise with the palm tree.
We need spiritual segments in our life so we can bend in a storm that is against our Jesus attitude.
