Highlights of the teaching.
Matthew 7:16
"You will know them by their fruits." RSV
True spiritual fruit comes from the real Seed otherwise it will be artificial.
Example: Dress up a pig to look like a racehorse and it will eventually do what it does by nature, wallow in the mud!
On the other hand, the racehorse will always be a racehorse and if it is trained properly, eventually it will do what it was born to do.
1 Peter 1:23
“You have been born anew, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God” RSV
If we have been truly born-again, we have the True Seed.
Therefore, we have the capability to bear real, long-lasting, sweet fruit.
Matthew 13:23
“But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: (to produce results, completed action) some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." NKJV
Parents desire their children to do well.
Parents desire to see fruit or godly results. (Hear good news about their children)
3 John 4
“No greater joy can I have than this, to hear that my children follow the truth.” RSV
When they do well parents are very honored, praised and joyful.
Question. In what way does God receive honor, praise, and glory?
John 15:8
‘By this my Father is glorified, (#1392, honor, praise and glory) that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be my disciples.” RSV
Remember we are God’s children.
Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.
Ephesians 4:30
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God's own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).” AMP

This teaching beautifully emphasizes the importance of genuine spiritual transformation and the evidence of that transformation through the fruits we bear in our lives. By comparing a pig dressed as a racehorse to a true racehorse, illustrates that true identity cannot be disguised or changed by external appearances. This analogy helps convey that genuine spiritual fruit comes only from the true Seed, which is the imperishable Word of God.
Key Points:
- True Identity: Just as a pig, no matter how it's dressed, will return to its nature, so too will a person who has not been truly transformed by God's Word. On the other hand, a racehorse, when properly trained, will fulfill its purpose. Similarly, those who are truly born again through the imperishable Seed of God's Word will naturally produce genuine spiritual fruit.
- Born of the True Seed: According to 1 Peter 1:23, those who are born anew by the Word of God possess the True Seed, which is imperishable. This seed gives believers the capability to bear real, lasting, and sweet fruit, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 13:23.
- Bearing Fruit Glorifies God: Parents find joy and honor when their children do well, just as God is glorified when His children bear much fruit. As John 15:8 states, when we bear much fruit, we glorify God and prove ourselves to be His true disciples.
- Responsibility and Accountability: As God's children, we have a responsibility not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30 reminds us that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and should live in a way that honors God, avoiding actions that would offend or sadden Him.
Application:
This message encourages believers to examine the fruit in their lives as evidence of their true spiritual condition. Genuine fruitfulness is a result of being born of the imperishable Seed and living in obedience to God's Word. By doing so, believers not only fulfill their purpose but also bring honor, praise, and glory to God, just as a well-trained racehorse glorifies its trainer.
This teaching can inspire and challenge believers to strive for genuine transformation and to live in a way that truly reflects their identity in Christ.
