How to maintain freedom and protection from our past!

Question, what happens when we are slow to use our shield against fiery darts or missiles from the enemy?

Answer put on and use the breastplate of righteousness!

Ephesians 6:14
“Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness

The right standing or righteousness of God protects us as a breastplate.

A breastplate in the physical is placed over the vital organs of the human body, which are the heart and the lungs.

If the human heart is stopped or even the lungs the person will die.

In the same way the breastplate of righteousness covers and protects our heart, in other words our life.

Allow God and His word identify who we are in Christ and not by what others say.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”

Do not judge by appearances! See ourselves as God sees us based on His Word.

1 Samuel 16:7 (AMP)
“But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Taking part in what is forbidden is sin and brings guilt, and condemnation.  It produces feelings of unworthiness before God.

Sin is a direct attack against the Breastplate of Righteousness.

The attack is caused by our own behavior and it is intensified by demon activity.

Keep clean as we go!

1 John 1:7-9
“but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” RSV

The enemy desires us to see ourselves defeated, worthless, in sin, lost, having no purpose in life, no importance in God’s kingdom and unrighteous. (James 1:13-15; 4:17; I Peter 1:14; 2:11)

The feeling of unworthiness (through past or present sins) reduces the operation or use of the Breastplate of Righteousness.

The sense of unworthiness in a person gives the enemy a place to accuse the brethren reminding them about their sin(s).

Any damage to our Breastplate of Righteousness is repairable through the blood of Jesus and will put the believer back on track.

Restoration through the blood of Christ is provided.

Psalm 23:3 (AMP)
“He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.”

New insights and great news!!

Hebrews 9:13-14 (RSV)
“For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sanctifies for the purification of the flesh, 14  how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”

Think for a moment. The blood of Christ purifies our conscience from dead works to serve the living God!

Jesus offered Himself up without blemish to God and because of Jesus our conscience is purified  from dead works so we can serve the living God! This is great news!!
