You are a New Person in Christ Jesus! Part 2 Training for those young in the Lord!
Welcome to another training session Part 2.
1st. Here is your next prayer from your heart to the Father in Jesus name.
“Dear Father thank You for water baptism and what it represents, and I am grateful for the work You are doing in my life in Jesus name amen.”
2nd. Continue to thank the Father in Jesus name every day for answered prayers.
3rd. Read the following. (Ask for help if you have not been baptized in water)
Romans 6:1-4 (TLB)
“Well then, shall we keep on sinning so that God can keep on showing us more and more kindness and forgiveness?
2 Of course not! Should we keep on sinning when we don’t have to?
3 For sin’s power over us was broken when we became Christians and were baptized to become a part of Jesus Christ; through his death the power of your sinful nature was shattered.
4 Your old sin-loving nature was buried with him by baptism when he died; and when God the Father, with glorious power, brought him back to life again, you were given his wonderful new life to enjoy.”
Here is another translation of Romans 6:1-4.
Romans 6:1-4 (NKJV)
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
4th. Let us now continue with this training session. Read the following portions of God’s Word below.
5th. As you read, take some notes of things that stick out to you, using some type of device or paper notebook. Whatever works for you.
6th. Write down at least three steps of application from your reading.
7th. Thank God for helping you in your new life as a believer in His family.
You are a brand-new person!
II Corinthians 5:15-17
“He died for all so that all who live-having received eternal life from him-might live no longer for themselves, to please themselves, but to spend their lives pleasing Christ who died and rose again for them.
16 So stop evaluating Christians by what the world thinks about them or by what they seem to be like on the outside. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, merely as a human being like myself. How differently I feel now!
17 When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” TLB
New Nature: The term new nature refers to the spiritual transformation that occurs within the inner man when a person believes in Christ as Savior. The Christian is now a new man as opposed to the old man that he was before he became a Christian. He is not the old man renovated or refreshed; he is a brand-new man with a new family, a new set of values, new motivations, and new possessions.
The old man is still present in the new life and expresses himself in corrupting deeds such as lying. The new man, to be visible, must be put on as one would put on a new suit of clothes. In other words, the new nature must be cultivated or nurtured by spiritual decisiveness to grow in Christ. We must not revert to putting on the old suit of the former life; rather, we must continue to grow in this new life. (Commentary)
The message of the new nature is a message of supreme hope: the Spirit of God can accomplish a life changing transformation for all who will only believe in Christ.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” RSV
“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
7 In these you once walked, when you lived in them.
8 But now put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices
10 and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.” RSV
“Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience,
13 forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” RSV
“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
I Peter 1:14
“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,” RSV
To keep this training series simple and effective, it would be wise to take things one at a time. Otherwise our mind can become like scrambled eggs. The following video will help you understand.
