4 Children 8 Objects_Parts 10-15 Our Father's business! (Hold, Carry, Deliver)
This teaching is document only.
Almost every one stands for or represents something.
As believers in Christ we should stand for or represent the following:
1. The God of us!
2. God’s kingdom!
3. Jesus Christ!
4. The name of Jesus!
5. Delegated authority!
6. The Holy Spirit!
7. The power of the Holy Spirit!
8. People who speak in tongues!
9. The inheritance! There is more!
In addition, our life should represent His business.
I understand we have other types of business to conduct on earth.
However, we cannot neglect our Fathers business.
Luke 2:48-51 (NKJV)
48 “So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously."
49 And He said to them, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?"
50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.
51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart.”
We also represent part of the body of Christ here on earth.
We are part of each other. (1 Corinthians 12th chapter)
We are all important.
1 Corinthians 12:14-27 (NKJV)
14 “For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body," is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.
23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it,
25 that there should be no schism (Dictionary = division, separation, discord, disharmony) in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.
26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.”
What do we do as believer in Christ? (We follow the pattern God set forth in His Word!)
Preparation and Training:
(A) Practicing Disciple of Jesus Christ
(B) Water baptism/The Lord’s Supper
(C) Baptism in the Holy Spirit
(D) Speaking in tongues
(E) Taught (Accurately and effectively)
Effective Evangelism:
(F) Go
(G) Preach
(H) Do the works of Jesus
Effective Ministry:
(I) Meeting the needs of the people through: (The 3 M's)
1. Motivational gifts.
2. Ministry gifts.
3. Manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
Character:
(J) Develop the excellent, moral qualities of Jesus.
What do those in Christ provide?
We provide hope.
By living a Godly life, we provide people with hope.
Realize that those who are lost have no hope.
Consider these portions of God’s word.
1 Thessalonians 4:13 (NLT)
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.”
Ephesians 2:12 (NLT)
“In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.”
1 Timothy 1:1 (NKJV)
“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,”
Once again, by living a Godly life we provide people with hope.
This is one reason we should develop in character. (See link below)
Going back to what we do and what we provide (Or deliver) consider the following.
Dictionary definition for the word “Provide”:
1. to make preparation to meet a need
2. to prepare or get ready in advance
3. to supply or make available (something wanted or needed)
4. to make something available to
Realize that the name of Jesus is above every name.
Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV)
9 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Realize also we have the name of Jesus.
Even though we have the name of Jesus we must also do something with His name.
We are to provide others with the name of Jesus.
If we have the name, we can provide others with the name.
We cannot give if we do not have.
Consider the following.
Here is just one part of a very familiar portion of God’s Word. (Verse 6)
Acts 3:1-10 (RSV)
1 “Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms of those who entered the temple.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.
4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, with John, and said, "Look at us."
5 And he fixed his attention upon them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 But Peter said, "I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."
7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong.
8 And leaping up he stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 and recognized him as the one who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.”
I believe that those who have the name of Jesus must know who they are in Christ.
Acts 19:13-16 (AMP)
13 “Then some of the traveling Jewish exorcists (men who adjure evil spirits) also undertook to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, I solemnly implore and charge you by the Jesus Whom Paul preaches!
14 Seven sons of a certain Jewish chief priest named Sceva were doing this.
15 But [one] evil spirit retorted, Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?
16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit dwelt leaped upon them, mastering two of them, and was so violent against them that they dashed out of that house [in fear], stripped naked and wounded.”
Even though we hold and carry the name of Jesus, we are responsible to use His name against the kingdom of darkness in the spirit realm.
Here are some questions that came to the surface in my preparation time.
1. Is “terrorist” a name?
2. Is a “terrorist” a person?
3. Does a “terrorist” have a name?
4. Does a “terrorist group” have a name?
5. Does a sickness or disease have a name?
6. Do any attacks against our spirit, mind, will, emotions, and body have a name?
7. Would a bad tormenting thought have a name?
Since we have the name of Jesus, we can use His name against any name that is named based on God’s Word rightly divided, this includes a Jesus attitude!
One step further we are to be good stewards of what we hold, carry, and deliver.
We all hold, carry, and should employ (distribute) at least one gift. (Romans 12:6)
I have five videos to help people “Discover, Understand and Use your gift” (See below for the link)
This section reveals the seven charisma gifts.
Romans 12:6-8 (RSV)
6 “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
7 if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching;
8 he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
This verse reveals what to do with our gift, plus stewardship.
1 Peter 4:10 (RSV)
“As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:”
This verse reveals Stewardship.
Luke 12:42-43 (RSV)
42 “And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?
43 Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing.”
Once again, we are to be good stewards of what we hold, carry and deliver.
Keep in mind that the first thing people see is our appearance.
Our appearance reveals many things.
Our appearance provides people with a snapshot of who we are as an individual.
Just like the business cards.
However, this is apart from technology and social media including business cards.
I am talking about when we meet people in person. (No technology)
Question, what kind of appearance is being displayed in our life?
Question, how are people viewing us?
As believers what kind of information are we holding? (At least seven things)
This is besides our gift I already mentioned.
1. Rejoicing attitude
2. Constant prayer (Native language and our heavenly language)
3. Thankfulness
4. God’s power (Not reducing the power of the Holy Spirit)
5. Maintaining a Jesus attitude about spiritual things
6. Holding fast what is good
7. Conformity to God’s word
The seven things listed are revealed in this portion of God’s Word.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 (RSV)
16 "Rejoice always, (V. 1)
17 pray constantly, (V. 2)
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (V. 3)
19 Do not quench the Spirit, (V. 4)
20 do not despise prophesying, (V. 5)
21 but test everything; hold fast what is good, (V. 6)
22 abstain from every form of evil. (V. 7)
This is the last part of this series. Even though there are more objects, time, change of direction entered my life and ministry. Therefore, only three objects were mentioned. If things change in the future and if it is God’s desire, I will continue by faith. However, this series is filled with plenty of nourishment for anyone desiring to grow in Christ. Be blessed and do not forget to be doers of God’s Word, in Jesus name!
James 1:22 (AMP)
“But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].”
Hebrews 4:2 (NKJV)
“For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”
