Lord’s Supper (Communion) at home
Did you know you can take the Lord’s Supper (Communion) at home?
We did this often when my children were at home even though we attended a church that served communion every Sunday.
All those in Christ Jesus can and should take the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)
We are to do this in remembrance of Jesus, and what He did in His body and blood.
(How) Proceed with a responsible believer in the family.
This all can be done on an individual basis as well.
Have a glass or cups. Fill it with a little juice or whatever is available, even water.
Have a piece of bread or cracker.
Gather your family in your home.
Begin by each person praying and examining themselves to ensure they have forgiven anyone for anything.
Pray and thank God for what Jesus did in His body.
Discern what Jesus did in His body: (Jesus took all doubt, fear, worry, mental anguish, every disease, and sickness…on His body for you. (Isaiah 53:4-5)
Pray and give thanks, break the bread or cracker, pass it to the family members.
The Bread:
Each person takes and eats the bread or cracker believing that they are whole, based on God’s Word rightly divided. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Be thankful!!
Now, each person takes the glass or cup.
Pray and believe God to forgive you for anything.
The Cup:
Now drink what’s in the glass or cup believing that you are forgiven.
Pray and thank God that you are forgiven and made whole in Jesus name. By His stripes, you are healed of anything…
Believe God for total forgiveness, health, and provision in Jesus' name! Amen!
1 Corinthians 11:23-30 (NKJV)
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."
25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.
27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
Isaiah 53:4-5 (AMP)
4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP)
15 Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.
