FACE Part 14 Locate our Goliath’s Drive them out, Place God first in our life! (Conclusion)
It would be wise to take some notes and review them throughout the week.
Retention is manifested through regular review.
Make short steps of application.
Enjoy the teaching and your Teacher the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26 (NKJV)
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
Thank you for listening and growing in Christ!
Pastor Vince Marino
Let me start off by saying this.
Place God first in our life.
Matthew 6:33 (RSV)
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well."
Also, let me say this.
Some of you might be discouraged.
You might feel like giving up.
Maybe throw in the towel.
Consider God’s word to manifest some hope. (Two translations)
Hebrews 10:35-36 (RSV)
"Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
36 For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised."
Hebrews 10:35-36 (MSG)
"So don't throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It's still a sure thing!
36 But you need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion."
Without hope people get discouraged.
Discouragement causes a person’s heart to become hard.
Hebrews 3:12-13 (RSV)
"Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
Romans 15:4-7 (RSV)
"For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. 5 May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Hope verses to increase encouragement!
2 Corinthians 2:14 (RSV)
"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere."
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (RSV)
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
Here is one beautiful verse in the Bible that reveals many things.
This verse will put things in perspective.
Ezra brings to the table the perfect lifestyle that should be copied.
If copied it will assist the believer to place Jesus first in their life.
Ezra 7:10 (RSV)
"For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel."
1. Set his heart
2. To study
3. To do
4. To teach
Hebrew definition for “had prepared”, #3559: "to be established, be readied, be prepared, be certain, be admissible."
