Root problems need to be destroyed or removed in Jesus' name!
Highlights:
Our main goals in this teaching are:
Detect and remove the root (Real problem) to prevent unnecessary trouble.
Seek everlasting methods over temporal methods.
To help us detect and remove root problems we can use our spiritual radar system. (I mentioned this the last time I taught)
Our spiritual radar system consists of at least four areas:
(1) Our will (Determination, willpower, motivation or drive. (Isaiah 1:19)
(2) A decision (Joshua 24:14-28)
(3) Speaking in tongues (Switch turns on) (1 Corinthians 14:13-15)
(4) Our Revealer (Holy Spirit) (1 Corinthians 2:9-10) (Always ready to reveal)
Let us now address root problems.
There are at least two types of root problems:
(1) Physical root problem
(2) Spiritual root problems
Here is a physical root problem scenario:
Roots are connected to a tree.
If the tree is bad, then what?
A decision needs to be made.
We need to remove the tree.
However, removing the tree is one thing.
Removing the roots is another.
Both the bad tree and the roots must be removed. (Destroyed)
Otherwise, the roots will continue to grow and cause new problems.
If the roots remain there will be problems.
Removing roots is not an easy task.
My backyard, for example.
