4 Children 8 Objects Part 4 Time Frames, Acknowledging God First
It would be wise to take some notes and review them throughout the week.
Retention is manifested through regular review.
Make short steps of application.
Enjoy the teaching and your Teacher the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26 (NKJV)
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."
Highlights:
Let us continue our teaching journey.
I have been using objects in this teaching.
What is the purpose of using objects?
The answer, to help us understand and believe God.
The Bible uses physical objects to reveal spiritual truths.
Jesus is the ultimate object lesson from the Father to us.
Soil, Well of water, Lilies, Fig tree, Birds, Fish, Ants, Yeast, Honey, Salt, Lord’s Supper Bread and Cup, Pharisees, Child, Money.
Today we will continue with our second object which is duct tape.
We related this tape to temporary methods. (Temporary fixes)
Even though this is man-made, it does have some value.
It works. It gives support. It has many uses.
Sometimes people need to rely on a temporary method.
For instance, people who were in the military that lost an arm or leg.
They replace it with a man-made substance.
This is temporary until they get to heaven.
People spend a lot of time on material things. (Things that can be seen)
Things can choke God’s word in our life.
Mark 4:18-19 (NKJV)
18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word,
19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Are “things” choking our time with our Source?
How much time are we spending on the temporal?
The main point, man-made things will eventually dwindle or run out.
Keep this character quality in mind as we go.
Security vs. Anxiety
“Structuring my life around what is eternal and cannot be destroyed or taken away.” *(IBLP)
Note. God’s word rightly divided equals gold, silver, and precious stones.

Make time frames for prayer and study. (Delegated authority included)
Develop the habit of acknowledging God first in all that we do.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Resource
In all thy ways acknowledge him—Begin, continue, and end every work, purpose, and device, (or maneuver) with God. Earnestly pray for his direction at the commencement; (Beginning) look for his continual support in the progress; Adam Clarke's Commentary.
(Ask this question before we enter an activity. “Does this activity have eternal value?”
Bottom lines:
Duct tape on my left side and the Bible on my right side.
Look at this duct tape it is temporal.
Look at this Bible it will last forever.
Isaiah 40:8 (RSV)
8 The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand for ever.

Rust (and so on) is an excellent reminder to seek the everlasting Source.

John 6:27 (NKJV)
Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.
Mark 8:36 (NKJV)
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
