Lasting Results Session 2 Part 2 Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, Faith

Welcome again everyone!
This teaching is in document form only, with special features.
Note: To maintain focus, read everything on the page before viewing the video and going to the links. Thank you.
(1) Let us begin another part of the series, “Lasting results”. (Session 2)
(2) Like I said in our last time together, we see in God’s word the character qualities of Jesus and others played out in life situations.
(3) Therefore, God’s word and character qualities go together.
(4) What steps can be taken to develop character qualities?
(5) What is the process?
(6) The answer is found in Romans 11:17-24. (Another teaching is required for this)
(7) However, we can all start the process by at least:
(1) Read the verses within this teaching.
(2) Study and observe the principles in Romans 11:17-24 (Process)
(3) Memorize some scripture in this teaching.
(4) Memorize any of the ten-character qualities in this teaching.
(5) Meditate on what we read today.
(6) Apply what we learned.
(8) Here is a simplified well-balanced procedure to follow. Click here. Fuller version. (PDF file)
(1) Hear the word.
(2) Read the word.
(3) Study the word.
(4) Memorize the word.
(5) Meditate on the word.
(6) Apply the word.
(7) Share the word.
(9) (Wisdom) As we follow this method, and other familiar methods, God can have something to work with in our walk of faith. Plus, we need it for long lasting results.
(10) At this point in the teaching the inner workings of faith will be taught for long lasting results.
(11) In other words, more understanding needs to take place involving how faith works to manifest long lasting results.
(12) The more understanding we have the less we will need the bit and bridle as seen in our last teaching.
(13) Here is a project we can work on during the week. Speak this statement out loud during the week. “By faith, I understand”!
Hebrews 11:1-3
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. NKJV
(14) We will now proceed to increase our understanding of the inner workings of faith.
(15) What we cannot see or hear is our hope or goal.
(16) I will use the baptism in the Holy Spirit with tongues (BIHS) to illustrate my point about the inner workings of faith. (Hot issue today and needed for every believer)
(17) I believe many Christians are afraid of this subject. They are afraid, maybe because of lack of knowledge, lack of instruction, misuse or have no interest or see the value.
(18) By faith we understand, the BIHS with tongues, or any subject.
(19) We need faith for things we cannot see or hear.
(20) We might have the knowledge and understanding about our goal, but it might not be manifested yet, therefore faith is our substance or evidence until the manifestation takes place.
(21) Realize that it takes faith every time we pray in tongues because we do not know what the next word will be.
Romans 8:24-25
but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. NKJV
Romans 8:24-25
(If we already have something, we don't need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don't yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) (Hebrews 6:12) New Living Translation
(22) Once the statement of hope (Goal) is spoken or revealed, knowledge and understanding will be needed.
(23) It would be wise to search (Study) for the knowledge on behalf of our hope or goal. However, only if we are willing and obedient to search will this take place.
(24) Good news! Fear will be driven out as we gain knowledge and understanding of our hope or goal. But it must be the correct knowledge and understanding.
(25) Correct knowledge increases our strength.
(26) On the other hand, I believe that incorrect knowledge weakens a person. (Wrong conclusions)
(27) We witnessed this in the account of David and Goliath. (1 Samuel 17:1-58)
(28) Goliath thought that with his knowledge he could defeat David. (Wrong conclusion)
(29) Therefore, studying God’s word (His knowledge) will assist the believer to come to the right conclusions.
2 Timothy 2:15
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. AMP
(30) Reading and rightly dividing God’s word (His knowledge) will paint a true perspective of a person.
(31) If the wrong picture is painted there will be problems. (Distortion or obscurity) (See video below)
(32) As believers in Christ read and study God’s word, they will be able to provide a true picture of hope for those who do not know God and for the people who do not read or study God’s word.
(33) We cannot believe everything people say, it could be the wrong picture. (Wrong perspective)
(34) We will be able to detect a false picture if we stay on track through prayer, study, and the application.
(35) It would be wise to allow God through His word to paint a true picture of His will in our life.
(36) Suggestion. Pray in tongues and allow the Holy Spirit to give us the correct brush strokes, colors, and creativity to paint a picture of true hope for those Jesus died for.
(37) Let us learn about correct knowledge and how it increases our strength.
Proverbs 24:5
A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; NKJV
(38) How important is strength?
Luke 21:34-36
34 But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;
35 For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth.
36 Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man. AMP
(39) We need strength to do God’s will. (See link below)
(40) Here are ways (essential elements) to manifest strength in our life.
(1) Jesus
(2) Wisdom from above
(3) Understanding
(4) Knowledge
(5) Prayer language
(6) Reading and studying God’s word
(7) Doing the word
(8) Isaiah 11:1-3
(41) Personally, God always manifests strength every time I need it. He always comes through!
(42) However, He is expecting me to have enough knowledge to get some rest. (Balance needed)
(43) I mentioned the phrase “they are afraid”. This involved the baptism in the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues. (BIHS).
(44) The opposite of boldness is fearfulness. Fear will cause a person to hide and not go forward.
(45) Because of the lack of knowledge and understanding of the (BIHS) people are afraid of this tool and weapon of God. (Not of man)
(46) Let me reaffirm the importance of character because boldness (A character quality) will be needed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
(47) Keep in mind, a person can be attacked with fear and yet move forward. However, if the person stops and hides, fear has manifested, and boldness is stopped.
(48) If a person is fully convinced about what they say and do they will have the boldness to move forward. This boldness will override fear because the value of the pursuit is high.
(49) Consider this quote from IBLP involving boldness and fearfulness.
(50) Boldness vs. Fearfulness P-5
"Confidence that what I have to say or do is true and right and just in the sight of God." *(IBLP)
(51) Fear holds us back in our speech and actions and boldness moves us forward.
Acts 4:29
29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness, RSV
(52) Therefore, our goal as believers in Christ, is to maintain regular Bible reading along with diligent study of God’s word, with the life application. All this will increase our boldness to do God’s word. It will cause us to be fully convinced!
2 Timothy 2:15
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. AMP
(53) Realize, when we are fully convinced of something, we will have the boldness to do it!
Romans 4:20-21
20 No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. RSV
Romans 4:20-21
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. KJV
(54) Greek definition for “being fully persuaded” NT: 4135 or “being fully convinced” in the RSV: to be completely certain of the truth of something - 'to be absolutely sure, to be certain, complete certainty.'
(from Greek-English Lexicon Based on Semantic Domain.
(55) Realize also, the things God promised involves knowledge.
(56) Knowledge gained will increase our confidence and manifest boldness to do what God promised.
(57) Furthermore, confidence will increase as we understand God’s word.
(58) God’s promises, (His knowledge) and understanding will strengthen the believer!
(59) Observe the importance of "understanding" through the following portions of God's word. What are your conclusions?
Psalm 119:34 (AMP)
34 Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law; yes, I will observe it with my whole heart.
Proverbs 4:7 (AMP)
7 The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).
Proverbs 8:8-9 (AMP)
8 All the words of my mouth are righteous (upright and in right standing with God); there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them. 9 They are all plain to him who understands [and opens his heart], and right to those who find knowledge [and live by it].
Proverbs 14:6 (AMP)
6 A scoffer seeks Wisdom in vain [for his very attitude blinds and deafens him to it], but knowledge is easy to him who [being teachable] understands.
Proverbs 24:3-4 (AMP)
3 Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], 4 And by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Matthew 13:23 (NKJV)
23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

Proverbs 2:1-6
2 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, 2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, 4 If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; NKJV
(62) Lastly, let us not forget these verses.
Galatians 5:6 (NKJV)
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) (Read verses 1-8)
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
