Hello all Royal Prayer Guards and those who join us on the internet!
Thank you for your availability and endurance! As Royal Prayer Guards keep in mind at least two benefits, (1) that in every prayer focus we have the opportunity to build our faith and (2) build our prayer muscle. These will enable us to pray effectively for others, advance God’s kingdom and give glory to our heavenly Father.
This prayer focus is directed toward those in Christ Jesus, and each believer is deeply rooted in God’s Word.
Our family visited Yosemite National Park one year. We went on a tour that took us by the Giant Sequoia Trees. The tour guide indicated that there was at least one thing that could destroy these giant trees.
I was surprised when he said snow. It was only after he explained his findings that I understood why the snow would destroy these giant trees.
The reason why the snow could destroy these trees was because of the shallow root system that these trees produced. The tour guide said that the snow would pile up on the tree branches and leaves and create an extreme weight that would cause the trees to topple, thus destroying the life and beauty of the trees.
What does this mean for the believers? We are like the trees; the snow is like the worries of life and so on. Accumulated worries (things pertaining to this life) weigh a person down.
Proverbs 12:25 RSV
"Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad."
If we do not have a deep root system or (Study system) and if we allow ourselves to be burdened down with the cares of this world, we too like the Giant Sequoia Trees will topple over and be severely damaged along with the beauty of our walk of faith.
Our study life or root system will lead us to know what to do in a given situation.
Engrafting God’s Word into our souls is one way to deepen our root system. A deep root system or study system is needed to hold us up or give us the anchorage we need especially when we encounter the weights of this world.
Realize that there will be times when the things of this world (spiritual snow) accumulate in our life and weigh us down.
If we cannot quickly overcome these various weights it is then that our root system or study system pays off. The anchorage that we have been developing with God's help will give us some time to remove the weights before any toppling occurs.
Our objective is not to be like the Giant Sequoia Trees with a shallow root system, but rather be like the palm tree.
In addition, cast all our cares, anxieties, worries, and concerns on Him.
1 Peter 5:7 (AMP)
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”
Suggestions for prayer:
Believe God to help each of His children to:
1. Be like the palm tree.
2. Be deeply rooted in His Word.
3. Cast all their cares, anxieties, worries, and concerns on Him.
4. Not allow worries and so on to accumulate and weigh them down.
5. Develop some type of effective study system. (Root system)
(Special note for large and small ministries) It would be wise and safe that all those in leadership positions have a deep developed study or root system for the sake of the flock.

Perspective! Roots are searching for nourishment!
When the roots of a tree or plant go down into the soil, they are searching for nourishment for the sake of the tree or plant. Keep in mind, it is not just one root but rather a root system.
Spiritually speaking, where is the nourishment for those in Christ? How do believers bring in the nourishment they need for a healthy life in Christ? Answer, through prayer and the study of God’s word-the Bible. Therefore, the root system for believers is their study life. This will take a willing and obedient spirit, desire, and God’s power.
When God’s word says, “be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love”, how does this take place? Answer, the believer searches the Bible about love. They bring in the information, by reading, studying, memorizing, mediating, and applying what they learn. The result will be anchorage in Christ. The same is true in any Biblical subject.
Ephesians 3:17 (AMP)
"May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love"
Proverbs 2:4-5 (AMP)
“If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures, 5 Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.”
Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV)
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
