Follow in His footsteps!
Greetings again, all Royal Prayer Guards, and all who unite with us.
I pray all of us are about our Father's business, willing, obedient, and dependable.
Luke 2:48-49
“So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously."
49 And He said to them, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?"
I believe part of God’s business is His word. We are responsible for praying, reading, and applying His word to protect our thought lives and provide people with a trustworthy lifestyle in Christ.
Ephesians 6:18
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
As believers in Christ, our objective is to follow the steps of Jesus. As we stick close to Jesus and His word with application, we will have the potential to manifest, to some degree, 1 Peter 2:22-23.
Think about Jesus, who read the scriptures and applied His Father's word on earth. Jesus is our example.
Follow in His footsteps!
1 Peter 2:18-23 (AMP)
18 [You who are] household servants, be submissive to your masters with all [proper] respect, not only to those who are kind and considerate and reasonable, but also to those who are surly (overbearing, unjust, and crooked).
19 For one is regarded favorably (is approved, acceptable, and thankworthy) if, as in the sight of God, he endures the pain of unjust suffering.
20 [After all] what kind of glory [is there in it] if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you take it patiently? But if you bear patiently with suffering [which results] when you do right and that is undeserved, it is acceptable and pleasing to God.
21 For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.
22 He was guilty of no sin, neither was deceit (guile) ever found on His lips.
23 When He was reviled and insulted, He did not revile or offer insult in return; [when] He was abused and suffered, He made no threats [of vengeance]; but he trusted [Himself and everything] to Him Who judges fairly.
The believer’s purpose in life.
Our purpose is to be like Jesus and honor the Father.
The following five steps can be used to pray for us and other believers in Christ.
Why? To become believable among those who need Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
People cannot see Jesus, but they can see those in Christ and their behavior.
Observe the five steps to follow. (1 Peter 2:22-23)
(1) He never sinned.
(2) No deceit was found on his lips.
(3) When he was reviled, he did not revile in return.
(4) When he suffered, he did not threaten.
(5) He trusted [Himself and everything] to Him Who judges fairly.
