Maintain a cool spirit prayer focus

Welcome, all Royal Prayer Guards and all those who unite with us!

Thank you for being a vessel for honorable use. Thank you for your reverence, seriousness, and tolerance as we move forward doing what Jesus did.

2 Timothy 2:21
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

Prayer objective!

Maintaining a cool spirit is our objective in this prayer focus. As believers in Christ, we can do this because the mighty Holy Spirit is in us.

The main portions of God’s word. (Highlighted text added)

Proverbs 17:27

He who restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding

Proverbs 14:29
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

Proverbs 15:18
A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention. Proverbs 15:18

Understanding is essential!

Proverbs 2:11
discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you

Proverbs 9:6
Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.

Pressures of life!

Pressures of life are sure to come. These pressures will squeeze whatever is inside us. If we truly have the needed knowledge and understanding, we will restrain our words and manifest a cool spirit.

Insights:

James 1:19-20
Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, 20 for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.

When we are in the slow to speak, slow to anger mode, that is the time to ponder how to answer.

We have two choices, react with anger, or respond with a cool spirit or a Divine response.

Proverbs 15:28
The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

Psalm 37:30
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.

Realize that those who need Jesus will back away if we are hollering, and angry.

Suggested steps of applications:

1. Receive God’s knowledge to know what to speak.

2. Control the words we speak.

3. Believe in God, for understanding to manifest a cool spirit.

4. Practice, quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

5. Be alert to the slow mode of James 1:19, Proverbs 14:29, and Proverbs 15:18.

6. Ponder the situation before we speak.

7. Respond with a cool spirit no matter what happens.
