Spread your Spiritual Wings

Hello, all Royal Prayer Guards and all those join us!!

Thank you for your faithfulness on behalf of Jesus Christ our King!

Let us be those faithful few who will labor in His harvest. This is a team effort for the body of Christ and an opportunity to honor our heavenly Father. Prayer is needed!

“Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2 (NKJV)

It’s time for maturity! With all the things happening in the world today, people are looking for maturity. Those who are truthful, bold, available, dependable, wise, punctual, decisive, and compassionate.

As believers in Christ, we should no longer be children. We should be speaking the truth in love, growing up in all things and doing our share. (See Ephesians the 4th chapter for the full impact)

We are to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus to be an effective witness for Christ. (See Romans 6:11)

It is one thing to say that we are dead to sin. It is quite a different matter to experience it. Yet this is precisely what God wants us to do on a continuing basis.

Law of gravity and the principle of aerodynamics

We can do this by picturing the law of sin as the law of gravity and the law of the Spirit as the principle of aerodynamics.

For example, picture an eagle soaring in the air. If that eagle folded in its wings, it would begin falling to the ground because the law of gravity would take over. Law is a law because it always operates the same way under the same conditions.

All that the eagle must do to stop falling is to stretch out its wings. The air rushing over its wings sets up a new force.

It is the principle of aerodynamics. This principle is greater than the law of gravity. It does not annihilate the law of gravity; it overcomes it.

If we stop meditating on God’s Word in the face of temptation, we will begin to fall. Falling is a very real experience. It does not take very many seconds to be defeated.

If we are always falling rather than soaring in the victories of Jesus, we will be ineffective in our prayers for those in need.

How did God design us?

God designed the eagle to soar in the air and God designed Christians to copy Him, Ephesians 5:1, and follow the steps of His Son, 1 Peter 2:21, and not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21. (Overcome not overtaken)

As we read, meditate and apply God’s Word, (or we can say, weaving God’s Word into our thoughts) we will soar above the power of temptations.

Satan wants us to believe that when we start falling, there is nothing that we can do but surrender to the temptation.

Stretch out those spiritual wings

However, all we need to do is to stretch out those spiritual wings by quoting portions of scripture related to the temptation.

Then, in a few moments, the temptation will lose its power and appeal, and we will once again soar above temptation.  In this way, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus lifts us up above the law of sin and death. (See Romans 8:2.)

As we soar and overcome, through effective prayer and the application of God’s Word, we can help those who are being overtaken.
